| A
participatory art project.
The questions: Who
are we? Why are we here? What
happens to us after we die? I
leave to religion and the philosophers to answer. I
am more interested in where do we travel in our lives and who do we meet
along the way? My
Voyage Project creates unexpected encounters between people and art.
Then invites the beholder to interact with the project. Each
vessel has a message embedded into its surface:
You
have
just
encountered
a
sculpture
by
Francis Sileo.
It
is part of:
Voyage
Project
an
interactive art endeavor.
The
purpose of this venture
is
to create unexpected encounters
between
people and art.
Then
document the universal human experiences
of
discovery, possession and release.

The vessels are released in public
spaces or through art galleries, and their journey begins. Some
people interact more than others. I have received brief notes about encounters,
personal narratives sharing a bond with a vessel, and photographs of a
wide range of people and their encounters: from hotel maids, to brides at
their wedding, to celebrities like Margaret Cho, Bella Fleck, and Carrie
Fisher. You are invited to join this
project in three ways:
Purchase a vessel, becoming a patron of
the project - keeping the vessel in your private collection, or
release it in your own way and become an active participant. or Sign
up to receive e-mail notifications for upcoming exhibitions / events
and/or dates and locations for future releases. or Being
at the right place, at the right time - a vessel might come your way.
To see more details about the vessels,
videos and pictures about their release and encounters, please click

The shapes come out,
with confidence and doubt, just
right, but never perfect. A
bit like you, a bit
like me:
beautiful, unique,
- imperfect.
To have, to hold, be
bought or sold, given,
or taken away. A
chance meeting, a
moment fleeting, a
light in a darkened day.
Once set adrift, our
only gift, a voice
amongst the waves.
Be stout of heart, each
day a start, a call
to come out and play. Be
kind, be gentle, be
gracious and true, the
course is hard to stay. Embrace
the moment, and
cherish the truth
- a belief in your own way
